This painting is a tropical painting of three macaws. I call it The Three Amigos. There are many different species of macaws, but here, we have the Scarlet Macaw, which does have a bit of yellow in the wing feathers, the blue and gold macaw and lastly, the Green Wing Macaw, which is similar to the Scarlet, but lacks the yellow in the wing feathers. These colorful birds are native to South and Central America. Unfortunately, many species of macaws are endangered or extinct in the wild yet are popular in the pet trade. Hello, my name is Becky Herrera and I am an artist in the Pacific Northwest. I have been drawing and painting since I was very little and was inspired by and encouraged by my grandfather, who was also an artist. I started out in traditional mediums and mostly worked in colored pencil and charcoal because of the control that you have to achieve the tiny details. Being interested in computers and technology, I have always been fascinated by digital art. I finally was able to get a taste when I got my iPad and found the app ProCreate.
